Popular among the Maharashtrian communities, Sabudana khichadi also serves as an excellent breakfast/tea-time dish.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Sago, pre-soaked for 3-4 hours
  • ¾ teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 medium sized potato, cubed (small)
  • 1 medium sized onion, fine chopped
  • 2 Green chillies, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup roasted peanut, coarsely ground
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons coriander, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in pan.
  2. Add the cumin seeds. Once it releases the smell of cumin seeds, add the cubed potatoes.
  3. Fry them till its cooked.
  4. Now add the onions and green chilies. Fry them till the onions are translucent.
  5. Now add the sago and salt.
  6. Cook the dish till the sago is translucent in colour.
  7. Add the peanuts, chopped coriander and lime juice. Stir well.
  8. Serve hot!
