Cauliflower Manchurian
 
 
A good appetizer for lovers of indo-chinese cuisine

Ingredients
To make the manchurian
  • Cauliflower, 1 medium sized
  • Baking powder, 2 tsp
  • Chilli powder, 2 tsp
  • Ajinomotto, 2 tsp
  • Cornflour/Corn starch, 3 tbspn
  • All Purpose Flour, 3 tbspn
  • Milk as required
  • Salt to taste
To make the sauce
  • Green chillies, 1 no.
  • Garlic, 5 cloves
  • Vinegar, 3 tsps
  • Soya sauce, 3 tsps
  • Tomato sauce, 5 tsps
  • Sugar, 1.5 tsps
  • Water, 6 tbspns
Instructions
  1. Cut cauliflower into medium sized florets and cook it in salt water.
  2. Make a thick batter baking powder, chilli powder, ajinomotto, corn starch, flour and milk.
  3. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
  4. Dip the cauliflower in the batter, roll it in bread crumbs and deep fry it in oil till golden brown.
  5. Keep the fried cauliflowers aside.
  6. Mix vinegar, soya sauce, tomato sauce, sugar and water in a container.
  7. Grind the green chillies and garlic and keep aside.
  8. Add a tsp of oil in a pan and fry the ground chilli garlic.
  9. Add the sauce mixture to this and allow it to boil.
  10. To this add the fried cauliflower and stir till it soaks up all the sauce.
  11. Serve hot!
